Hailing from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Deontay Wilder is a professional boxer and Olympian, former US champion, and WBC heavyweight champion. Beginning in Northport, Alabama, at Skyy Boxing Gym at just twenty years old, he went on to win the US championship and National Golden Gloves in 2007. His amateur record was 30 wins and five losses. Deontay fought professionally in Nashville, Tennessee, for the first time in 2008, winning a TKO against Ethan Cox. In 2021 Wilder faced Fury again in the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada. Fury knocked Wilder out in the eleventh round of the match.
